Permanent Makeup for Alopecia

Those who have suffered with partial or full hair loss, know that this is an emotionally painful condition.
Every day women must apply eyebrows, don a wig and sometimes apply false eyelashes.  Then there is always the fear of one of these "fixes" coming off and leaving them feeling "naked".
I have applied permanent eyebrows and eyeliner to women who suffer from Alopecia and they, more than any others, feel extremely liberated and relieved!

Interesting Job

Interesting Job
I had a client the other day who is a nurse. She flies in helicopters to rescue people from car accidents or transfer patients from one hospital to another.She told me they land right in the middle of the turnpike sometimes.I wish I had had more time to hear her stories. Her face was wreathed in smiles as she exclaimed, "I LOVE MY JOB!"

Chivalry

As I was leaving a store today with a heavy carpet runner on one shoulder and a large ceramic pot in the other hand, a kind gentleman noticed. He offered to take the pot and carry it to my car for me.
Although that would have been helpful, I declined, "That's OK. I got it!" "Are you sure?" "Yes, thank you so much!"
Later I wondered why I didn't just let him.
Instead I followed behind him muttering what I construed as encouraging words about the glories of chivalry.

Permanent Lip Color

One of my permanent lip clients told me that many years ago she had a procedure done where they threaded a line, similar to fishing line, along the edge of her lips. This was to give her a fuller, more defined look.

I had never heard of it. She said it hurt like heck!

Do you know what an Iridologist is?

My client today is a Doctor of Iridology. There are only twenty three of them in the USA. People come to her from around the world and she has helped innumerable patients with a plethora of ailments.
She herself has never in all her 50 some years, had an aspirin or antibiotic.
She makes her own dye for her jet black hair.
I gave her permanent eyeliner but in return I received quite an education and encouragement to pursue a natural lifestyle.

Surprise! This beautiful woman is actually smart too!

Stereotypes are deeply woven into our belief system. One of them being that it's rare to find an intelligent brain in a female body.

I was at a lecture with a roomful of professional women. The male speaker asked a question, to which a woman gave a thoughtful response.

The speaker seemed surprised and said, "Ms. -- told me I would be speaking to a group of smart women!"

Later I thought to myself, "If the situation were reversed, would a female speaker look surprised at an intelligent response from a man and made a comment like, 'I was told I would be speaking to a roomful of smart men.' ?" I don't think so.

Box Color Gone Wrong

The young woman came in a panic, dragging her two young ones with her! There she stood, her hair a shocking mix of pink, blonde and orange!
"My friend used a box color to dye my dark hair blonde. Now look at it! I have to meet my husband in one hour and he doesn't know I did this! Can you help me????"
Unfortunately, because she had such a close deadline, we were not able to do what needed to be done to "fix" her disaster. We can only hope her husband focused on her "inner beauty" when he clapped eyes on her.
Let that be a warning to all you pseudo-stylists! Save your mad money and come see the professionals. We will give you the look you want (or be honest with you and tell you it's not possible!)
